FM7 demo is next week, on Tuesday September the 19th.
Ultimate edition access drops on the 29th.
Full game access is the 3rd of October.

I personally don't expect much tune changes will need to be made to the ForzaTune app, but I'd like to start collecting data as early as possible.

I have several ideas in the works.
1. Basic observations from you guys.
2. Direct comparisons of the FM6 cars featured in the demo to the same cars in the FM7 demo.
3. A set of spec built cars of various drive, weight, etc. for direct comparison between FM6 and FM7.

BASIC OBSERVATIONS -
Keep it simple. The key here is to provide as simplified an observation as possible. It can be anything from a specific tuning characteristic to an overall sensation of feeling.

To keep things focused though, I'd like playing field as common as possible.
For example:
- No ASSISTS(abs/stability/etc.), Steering NORMAL, minimal or no tuning initially.
- If you use a wheel and/or PC please indicate.
- Camera shake/motion blur effects should also be turned off, or indicated as being used.
- Use cars*and tracks* that are common between FM6 and FM7.
*Ill share preferred cars and tracks later.

Aside from that, here are some typical observations I'll be looking for.....

TIRE PRESSURES-
Is the typical 28~30psi still effective?

OVERALL DRY TRACK FEEL/HANDLING-
Looser/tighter/same?
Slippery/Grippy/same?

TIRE PHYSICS-
Stock/Sport/Slicks
Progressive/Sudden loss of traction
Same/different/etc.

AERODYNAMICS-
Downforce grip at speeds
Drafting effects/speed differences

NON-ESSENTIAL OBSERVATIONS-
I do NOT need comparisons of wet/dry/day/night initially.
The reason is simple, we need to focus on what works under normal day/dry conditions first.
All further refinements for temperature/wet/etc can be dialed in over the coming months.
Share your observations, but don't focus on these aspects initially.

To be cont....

Sup everyone,

I'm Ryan, aka EXOR StoneRazer, aka StoneRaizer. I'm back after a lengthy absense.

"Where you been Stoner?"

Grab a beverage, a pizza and start a fire, it's going to be a while.

I'm not exactly sure how long it's been since I've played, so I'll go back to August 2013 when my life started changing dramatically. I had been working at the Walmart Pharmacy for a couple years when the store decided to change management and the computer system. Customers were pissed, it was poorly implemented and I landed in the hospital due to stress. I explained to the doctor that everything about me was fine - financially, socially, family life, everything was good except for work. The doctor gave me a note for 2 weeks off on the condition that I use it as my two weeks' notice.

November 2013 I started a new job at a small independent pharmacy in town. I thought things were going well but I had a dust up with a coworker. I found out that she had lived around the corner from me so when my city had a big snowstorm I went over to offer to help shovel her driveway. She went to HR complaining that I was stalking her. At the end of my 3 month probation in January 2014 I was let go because "I didn't fit in." I was devastated. 36 hours later, my Mom had a heart attack. I thought that me losing my job had caused it, but it was merely an unfortunate coincidence. I fell into a deep depression, hardly ate a bite of food for a week, and my weight dropped from 185 lbs to 170 lbs. I also started to see a counsellor to help me rebuild my mental health. I was seeing him every week, then as I got better every two weeks, and eventually every month. Mom is fine by the way. She had stents put in, was on some medication, and today it's impossible to tell that she's had a heart attack.

In May of 2014 I got a call out of the blue. It was from one of the pharmacists that I worked for at Walmart. He had left and was now at Shoppers Drug Mart, a large chain of drugstores in Canada similar to CVS or RiteAid in the US. He invited me to come work for him part time. He had no idea of everything that had happened the previous few months. I figured if this is happening it must mean that I'm mentally ready to return to work.

October 2017, I'm still working at Shoppers Drug Mart for the same guy. The store recently expanded to four times the space that the previous store had. My boss promoted me to full time as a merchandiser instead of in the pharmacy because "you're really good with customers so I want you on the floor to boost sales." Now that I'm full time, have a more consistent schedule and more money, I can afford to start gaming again. The fact that the new store had a Xbox One S 500GB bundle with Forza Horizon 3 and the Hot Wheels expansion helped twist my arm a bit too. I was able to pick up that, a headset, rechargeable batteries with charger and FM7 for $326 and change.

Since we're also a car club, I also had to purchase a new real life daily driver. I was driving a 2008 Nissan Versa. On May 4, 2016 I was at a four way stop. I had right of way, but a woman in a Mitsubishi Outlander SUV decided to run a Stop sign and t-bone me. I was hit on the right rear passenger side door, causing all of the side airbags to deploy. She hit me so hard that I was hit again by another vehicle on the rear driver's side quarter panel. My car was written off and I was given $7300 from insurance. I used that as a downpayment to buy a 2015 Chevrolet Spark LT2. Heated seats and mirrors, pleather interior, a/c, dealer even gave me $50 to put towards a K&N filter. Cost me $12 500 for a one year old car with only 30 000 km (18 600 miles). The paint is factory colour, but the windshield banner and green Chevy bowties are aftermarket.

So I managed to play Forza 7 quite a bit over the weekend. I've got a few observations in no particular order. Overall I'm liking the new game so far. It's definitely an evolution much like we thought it would be but there are a couple of things which are long over due.

At this point I haven't done any multi-player so I don't have an opinion on that. If the lobby settings from free play are available in multi-player then that's probably a net win but it remains to be seen.

Over on Reddit and forzamotorsports.net apparently there's a lot of hair pulling about being "cheated" out of VIP benefits or something along those lines. It would have been nice to have the x2 credit status that we've seen in previous games but for the amount of time I tend to spend in game I don't think it's much of a thing, YMMV.

The menus and interface are really pretty. I'm not convinced they're a step up in usability but at least they aren't worse in that regard.

Driving suits are cool, I guess? There's some pretty questionable design choices when it comes to suits but I suppose there something to look at while a lobby is loading? It does feel pretty crappy to get a suit (or even worse a badge) in a crate you've spent a bunch of credits on.

Speaking of crates I'm not too concerned about them. It does seem strange that there are number of cars that are locked behind crates but I don't see it as a thing that's going to bother me too much.

Locked cars are a little annoying. Seems like the special cars you earn are a one time only thing? We'll have to confirm but because of that my plans for a fleet of racing Crown Vics has to be adjusted. After winning it in a horrible bowling showcase I think you're stuck with just the one and it doesn't unlock it in the dealership. In fact it looks like there are a lot of cars that don't show up in the dealership so that is a little annoying. You can rent those missing cars in freeplay and I assume multiplayer but it's kind of weird that you have to jump around the game just to see/purchase the entire car list.

I haven't dug into tuning that much but it does feel like there are some changes in how the cars handle so I imagine there might be some further tweaking to tunes. It looks like the min and max values for a lot of things are greater/different. Looks like more downforce is available for Forza aero parts? The race cars I've looked at start with much higher camber numbers (as do the widebody kits).

Tuning is a little more of a hassle. You need to create a freeplay session since you can't jump right from the tuning screen to the track. If you set the AI opponents to 0 it loads faster. From that screen you can then change cars tracks etc and once you're driving you can pause and tune like you've always been able to. Buying cars for a series will automatically equip them with parts just like in FM5 and 6 so you need to go to tuning and manually tweak them for best results. Kind of a pain sometimes since the price of those parts is factored in already when you by the cars, potentially wasting credits.

Regarding the Homologation thing. I like it so far. It seems to do a decent job of getting the cars pretty close. The addition of HP and tire limits really are something we've been needing for a long time. Doesn't look like you can spec tire limits inthe lobbies but you can build the cars to the various homologation specs so there's a lot of potential there to create class with pretty good parity, either for series of casual racing nights. You can still build to a class for a private or freeplay race if you want to, which I'm sure we will.

As far as the actual driving goes, the cars feel the best yet. You can argue whether it's more arcadey or whatever but from my perspective they feel better under braking and overall have a little more grip or perhaps more consistent grip. You will probably need to tweak your controller settings though I think it starts at a 25% deadzone for most inputs which is pretty horrible.

As I think of more things I'll add to this thread. Feel free to add your own thoughts, tips, and complaints as well.
