After what seems like a long winter and a spring that just won’t quite come I made it to my first car event today. I didn’t get to partake in the whole cruise, but fortunately I was able meet up with the crew at one of the stops which luckily was just down the road from the IG world head quarters. It seems like it’s been forever since I saw my friends at the White Hall Drag O Way and Jersey County Street machine Association and was it nice to get out and see them again. Oh yeah, and their cars.
The best thing about a cruise is you get to see, hear, and smell the cars doing what they are supposed to be doing, driving! Car shows are cool, car cruises are where it’s at. Plenty more after the jump. Just click the continue reading button.

Where have all the projects gone?
Sunday Commentary week in review
by Jason
These days time is a bit limited for me to do much writing. It sucks, but car show season is coming and I’m hoping to hit as many shows as possible but no promises. Between running a business, a side business, and working on the family farm I haven’t had much free time lately. Which means I haven’t done my every few days sorting through the usual places one would look for old cars to buy. I’m not really in the market for an old car right now as I have other obligations but I like knowing what’s out there and how much it costs. It’s admittedly been a good four or five months since I’ve looked but to my surprise there was a huge lack of project cars for sale.
Where did they go? I’m talking about the first tier cars like 69 Camaros, Cudas, Road Runners, and 67 Mustangs. They’ve been gone for a long time. I’m talking about the third tier stuff like Chevy IIs, and Valiants. Where did they go? Who wants those cars but guys like me? Are there that many guys like me? I can’t imagine there are. Are we now just left with “restored” cars that are going to go for a small fortune? I sure the heck hope not. Well I hope they are getting driven hard anyway.
I know this was a bit of a short and pointless post but I just wanted to talk cars even if it’s just with myself these days. I suppose if it’s going to take 30 or 40k to get a muscle car I might as well just get a new Challenger. I want one anyway but deep inside I’ll always wish I had an old Challenger that I fixed up myself. I don’t want this post to seem sad or even whiney. That’s not my point. I don’t have a point. With spring here and Sunday being tomorrow I hope anyone that would read this tonight or tomorrow morning will take their old or new car and go driving. I know that’s my plan. I’ve actually been doing some filming lately. Nothing great, nothing ground breaking, or earth shattering, but I’ve just been filming my Sunday drives. If anything it will provide a nice sound track and a change of pace from the next to nothing I’ve been posting here lately. So look for that this summer. In the mean time I’ll try and shoot some photos of some cool cars.
Get out and drive something winter is over!
