ZR1 Powered Silverado

Truck guys are crazy, it’s just fact. If there is something crazy that can be done they will do it. Huge lifts, slammed to the ground, 6 inch pipes, you name it’s been done on a truck. Well it’s no surprise we find an LS9 stuffed under the hood of a Chevy Silverado. The fellas of Fastlane down in Texas decided it was time to undertake the adventure and the result is in the video that follows. Enjoy the awesome sights and sounds.

Test Drive: 2012 Kia Optima

Kia isn’t the first car brand I thought of when I decided to start a website where I’d hoped to do some car testing, however as I’ve said before I’ll take what I can get at this early stage of the site. The Kia Optima is not exactly high on my list of cars I’d like to own or even drive for that matter but maybe spending some time in one could change my mind. So I decided to try one out for a bit and see if my pre conceived notions of the Koreans could be changed.

Tours of the Corvette plant to stop due to C7 prep

It’s no secret I’m a Corvette fanboy and I think every one should be. You don’t have to love the styling but no one can argue with it’s bang for buck value. It is impossible to find a car that offers the performance of the Vette for the money, especially the Z06, and especially if you are hunting for a used one. So it’s no wonder that Chevy has been hiring like crazy down in Bowling Green to keep the plant working over time churning out orders on the C6 which despite growing a bit long in the tooth is still selling like hot cakes. If you want to take the tour better do it quick because come mid September the plant will be off limits to the public due to the big change over for the C7. They will still be pumping out C6s the whole time of course and tours will resume later in the year or maybe next year after the C7 is fully revealed.

Fallen Hero’s Dream Ride, one last big push

As I hope you remember we told you a week or so ago about the Fallen Heros Dream Ride. The date is fast approaching for the truck to make the nearly 5000 mile round trip to Camp Pendleton and back and as you can expect that’s not a cheap trip. In case you did not catch our first post about it the Vinnedge’s son Phillip was killed while serving over seas and as a tribute they created this awesome Chevy truck full filling their son’s dream of restoring an old pick up. They did not stop there though because the truck will be used to raise funds for thinks like Marine’s Toys for Tots and other military themed charities. For starters the truck will be making a trip out to Camp Pendleton in California to see off Phillips old battalion. The 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines will be shipping out soon and the truck will be shown to them on the 13th of Sept. To find out how you can help make this happen check out Fallen Heros Dream Ride.
