The Chinese all upset about car show models.

Hot girls and hot cars go hand in hand. Well they do everywhere but China. I suppose if there were a country on the planet that would hate hot girls it would be China. It seems their govt has thrown a fit over the models at the Beijing Auto Show. Here’s a short news report from Bloomberg.

The Chevy SS: a RWD Chevy V8 sedan. We’re getting the Commodore Again!

I know most of you here remember the Pontiac G8. Probably the best car sold in America during it’s short production run. It was practical, powerful, RWD, and reasonably priced and now IT’S BACK! You may have seen our friends at World Car Reviews mention this a while back. Now GM has made it official. The car will be called the Chevrolet SS and it will be RWD, V8 powered and based on the Commodore. Production will be very limited, GM says less then the G8 was which probably means that they will gauge the crap out of us consumers on the price. That’s pretty disappointing. No specifics yet though so we will keep our hopes up. I’ve just lost a lot of faith in car companies to deliver cheap performance to us like they used to.

No matter that, this is good news. It’s bee 17 years since Chevy had a RWD sedan and with the SS being LS powered it’s sure to be a hit. Look for Ute and wagon possibilities too. Hit the jump for the full press release and stay tuned to Infinite Garage for the latest.

Driven: The Kia Sorento

Admittedly the Kia Sorento isn’t exactly the coolest and most desirable car out there but we can’t drive Lamborghini’s every day unfortunately. Not to mention most of you out there drive normal cars too and maybe you actually care what we think about them. Ok I doubt that but we will drudge on. This isn’t a test drive per se or a review but more of a quick driving impression.

When you are a small fish in a big sea like we are here at IG you sometimes take your test drives any way you can get them. In this case I met up with a friend who just bought a 2012 Sorento and she let me drive it to lunch.

Ferrari Enzo Replacement Details

Ferrari chairman, Luca di Montezemolo, has confirmed the successor to the Ferrari Enzo will feature a hybrid power system. The supercar is set to be publicly revealed later this year.

Just like the previous Enzo, Ferrari have said the new car will be built in limited numbers. Where it will differ from the old car, is in the powerplant – a hybrid V12 incorporating Ferrari’s HY-KERS system. It’ll be bolted to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Montezemolo said “At the end of the year, we’ll also be unveiling the new Enzo, a limited series model and our first ever hybrid car”.

Insiders at Ferrari say that power from the hybrid drivetrain will be quite a lot higher than that of the recently released 544kW/690Nm V12-powered Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
