Cadillac ATS priced from $33990

Ok let’s just call it 34k. I like the Cadillac ATS and at 34k it’s not bad, but you aren’t getting much. That’s the base model with the 200hp 2.5 Automatic. If you want the turbo which makes 270k you are up to 35k and if you want the V6 with AWD well you are in the neighborhood of 42k. I don’t want to be to harsh here but screw that. I guess I’m getting old because I’m at the point where I’m complaining about the cost of things all the time, but quite frankly we the consumer and especially we the car buy are getting bent over by the big car companies these days. 42k a few years ago bought you a Vette. Now it buys you a V6 family sedan a nice one but still. This news makes me miss the Pontiac G8 even more. Anyway, the ATS is priced pretty close to the Germans and in some trims cheaper it will be interesting to see how that translates in sales. No official word on a ATS V yet but considering it will push well north of 50k I’m not sure I’m that interested any more.

You can hit the jump for the official press release from GM with all the gory details.

Automation: V8s coming soon!

The fellas working on Automation are hard at work on the engine simulator to bring us V8s, Over the weekend they posted this little gem.

Help us out: Engine Designer Revamp
Hey guys!
Just wanted to give you a short update on what is going to get to you in the near future, and how you could
help us further improve the engine designer.

The next few weeks
Our next goal is to release V8 engines to those who have preordered the game. This will happen around end
of May already! After that you will have to wait less than a month to get to play 6-10 new smoking fresh V8
scenarios if you have preordered.

The Engine Designer Revamp
Right after you lay your oily fingers on the V8 scenarios we jump into the fray and completely revamp the
engine designer core mechanics and iron out a lot of the flaws that are still in there. Among those are things
like a new system to calculate fuel economy, bigger bore and stroke ranges, engine part weights that scale
correctly with engine capacity instead with the arbitrary block size, etc.

And this is where we need you! What core engine designer mechanic would you like to see improved, and in
which way? We will seriously consider all posts in this thread, and the best ones will have a good chance of
being included if we deem they would be good for the game. Be concise, to the point, and proof read stuff.

That sounds very encouraging! We will try and keep you updated as more news comes out.

Big Red Documentary Trailer

If you aren’t familiar with Big Red let me give you a quick over view. Many people credit this car for starting the Pro Touring movement. The car will do 220mph, and fly up a mountain road with the best of them. In short, it’s a whole lot of whoop ass in a 1969 Camaro body. It’s so awesome someone is making a documentary on the car and here is the trailer.
