Cuda: Living Legend

There are many cars that reached legendary status in the muscle car era but one has eclipsed them all in terms of collect-ability, street presence, and status. This was due to the legendary Hemi engine option and it’s reputation as a race car. Cuda’s would have a strong showing and a large fan base in Trans Am racing with the AAR piloted by Dan Gurney and Swede Savage, the drag races, and on the streets. The car’s reputation was so great many owners swapped the badges out on it to denote the smaller engine. Last week we explored the Cuda’s origins with the Valiant and Barracuda, now we will look at the E body Cuda which debuted in 1970.

Good News if you live in South Korea, you can now buy a Corvette

Chevy is trying to get the Corvette in more markets due to the drop in sales at home. Let’s be honest they are going to sell less and less of them as our economy continues to suck and no real legitimate improvement on the horizon, coupled with the soaring price of the Corvette over the last five years and yeah sales are going to tank at home. So the South Koreans now get the legendary sports car. Let’s hope they sell the crap out of them.

If you are one of our Korean readers, ha. Go out and get yourself 86 million Wan and buy you one. That’s about 76k in US dollars.

It’s good to see the legend spreading over seas.

What is Infinite Garage?

I get this alot, what is Infinite-Garage. There is no simple answer to that and I realize to this point we’ve been a bit all over the place. I do know in the future I want more tech and car history. Think Funkatron’s tire article and my recent article on the Barracuda. However I always want to continue to break news that I feel like is worth reading and I really want to have reader’s projects posted here because I hope and feel that the core of the I-G fan base will be the DIYer, the weekend racer, and the guy who just gets it like we get it. I want to spread the knowledge of those people around to encourage others to tackle their own projects. So send those emails with your projects!

Most importantly I don’t want it to be dry. If you look at the big car blogs they are owned by giant companies and basically have no sense of humor, or atleast a really stupid one. I want I-G to have personality. I’m sure some times we will tick you off for bagging on your favorite car (I’m looking at you SRT-4 owner that sent me a nasty email), but you gotta keep in mind we aren’t all that serious. Ribbing is part of car culture so is pride. So yeah we are probably going to talk up the American cars and bag on Civics but I promise I will give every car I test a fair shake and I’m sure my cohorts here will do the same. Which brings me to the next point, we will not be bought off by car companies, advertisers, or anyone. When we test something it will be unbiased and fair.

Finally I just want to take a few seconds to thank you all. We passed the 3000th unique visitor for the month for the first time in I-Gs history. We are now well over 10k unique visitors for our very short history. I’m very proud of this and very grateful that you guys have come to read what we have to say and have stuck around. Especially you guys that were here at the beginning spreading the word and riding out the speed bumps.

Onward to 4000 visitors next month!
