The Infinite Garage Main Site. A new direction

So IG never quite turned out to what I wanted it to be. It was ok in it's prime and surprisingly a lot of people locally at least followed it. It was always a proud moment when someone would come up to me at a show and say "man I love that article on..." I always liked that made me feel like I was part of the car community somehow.

Lately if I post at all it's been some news or something like that and I really hate that. I try to post thing I find interesting but I really like doing more original content. I really like going to shows and cruises but real life has ground that to a halt. That means IG has lost a bit of purpose. That's ok, it's cheap to run so it's not like I can't leave it up forever for the hell of it however I'd like to see it do well again. I know I'll never have the free time again to do that so that means I'm going to do something a bit different.

Hopefully I can still do shows this year, but something I've wanted to do since before IG even game to life was film cars. Maybe reviews, maybe just having fun, maybe who knows. I've been gathering some footage since the weather warmed up of my Cobalt SS. Hardly an exciting car but I love it none the less. I'm putting some serious thought into doing a light road test but maybe just some general chit chat about cars while driving it. I imagine this is going to take me the better part of the spring and then who knows how long to figure out how to edit it all.

If that works who knows. I know I have access to a Vette, a Terminator, and a new Challenger. Also some not so cool cars like an Aveo, Equinox, and Ram Truck. Maybe I'll do some general chat about those cars. I'd like to do the AMG but because it's provided by Nic's work we have to be pretty sneaky about video and photography with it. Might be able to work around that though. The problem is her boss actually likes IG. hmm

Oh well I'm just thinking out loud. Onward to whatever is next.

  • I don't think it's lost its purpose, it just can't be a primary focus of yours is all (currently). Keep throwing news and what not up there when you can and add in a sprinkling of the original media content as well. The pace may have slowed, but if what you put up is good to you... that's what matters.
