Elite Controller Review
I was asked on the Facebook to do a little review of the Elite controller. I'm 25 hours into owning it so it's early but my initial reaction is very positive.
First the feel, it's quite a bit heavier than the standard controller, this is good. Secondly it's a non stick surface on the front and a surface that feels much like a cell phone case on the back. This makes for an easy grip and seems to eliminate sweaty palms.
The customization is where it's at. The software you can download either on your Windows 10 pc or the One allows you to change the buttom mapping in many ways. For example I mapped kick to the right lower paddle for Titanfall. This allows for a quick reaction time if you come face to face with a foe. The hair triggers are also great. Making aiming and charge weapons much easier to use.
For forza I mapped upshift to the right upper paddle and clutch to the both lower paddle. Downshift to the left upper paddle. Downshifting I found frustrating because I would modulate my brake position a bit while downshifting. Upshifting was great. The throws on the paddles are short and precise meaning quick upshifts with out having to change hand position.
One of the best features are there are four different vibrations. One for each trigger and then one for each side of the controller. This means in Forza brake lock up feels different than the back tires breaking loose. This just makes for a better overall feel of the car.
I'm sold, yes it's pricey but all of here are pretty serious gamers spending hours a week with controller in hand. If you can swing the $150 asking price and don't mind waiting a month to get the controller it's well worth it.
