Ah my old friend the Corvette. The C7 still gets me going even with the new Hellcat Challenger scratching my Mopar itch. If I had to confess I’d say I really was not much of a Corvette fan. That is until the C6 came along and the C7 just cranked the C6 up to 11 so it’s pretty cool too. Sometimes in the dead of the night when everyone including the dog has gone to bed I sit up late scouring the internet for videos of cool cars. Today I found a short but fun video of the new Vette making an attempt at a top speed run. Unfortunately it runs out of runway so we will never know what a Stingray convertible can top out at. Ok I’m sure we already know but I thought it was a fun video if for anything to get a look at that sweet digital dash and hear some noise.

Hemi power: Old and New
I suppose I should start this post off with something really professional and cliche talking about how legendary the Hemi engine is. However if you are here you know that. The hemi recently turned 50 and there have been all sorts of celebrations. I hear the events were great. Meanwhile back here at the IG ranch I was just excited to see a couple Hemi cars side by side at a small get together in my home town. You have seen both of these cars before but I thought it might be cool to examine some of the details that connect the Hemi E bodies of the past with the current king of the Hemi.
The above picture was my favorite of the night. I think it shows that while things have changed they have certainly stayed the same. Clearly the new Challenger is bigger but the lines are all there.

Bugatti at the Nurburgring 24 hour race
Bugatti won’t be doing any serious racing any time soon. While the Veyron is a rocket in the straight line it’s quite fat and doesn’t handle that well. Still the French automaker likes to take the cars to big races and then grab your attention with big headlines like “Bugatti takes the lead.” Which of course it didn’t since it didn’t really race.
Below is a bit of a press release from Bugatti with some interesting acts about fuel consumption. You know the stuff you care about when you buy the fastest car in the world. Really it’s just an excuse for me to post a bunch of Bugatti pics.

Transformers and Camaro a match made in Hollywood
Movies and cars go back as far as movies. Sometimes the cars in the movies become the stars themselves. Examples like the Bullet Mustang or the Dodge Charger in the Fast and Furious. With the Transformers series Chevy so a prime example as a place to get the new Camaro out to the world. That trend has continued through all of the transformers movies.
It eventually would inspire a special edition Camaro. Bumblebee.

One last post from the Rod Rod: Wentzville Cruise Night.
We will return for the last time to Wentzville Cruise Night. The Rod Run held biannually was a great event with a lot of variety. Since I’ve to quote a good friend of mine “done mopar to death” I thought I’d take a look at some other brands at the cruise in.
Fords were of course out in force. Aren’t they always? From T buckets to the latest and greatest. Ford is not all that was at cruise in though.
