Tech Tuesday: Coilovers

Suspension modifications are one of the most popular and effective ways to both enhance a car’s ride and looks. Since hot-rodding began people dropped their cars in various fashions to achieve just the right stance and hopefully improve handling as well. Sometimes that last part didn’t work out so well, but with modern coilover systems, readily and inexpensively available from a huge number of makers, it is pretty easy to achieve a killer look and great handling. So this week for tech Tuesday we are going to dive into coilovers.

How to Restore or Paint your Rims

Today we embark on a new journey and new partnership with some new friends. The guys at ProjektCustoms specialize in doing DIY videos that anyone can do in their driveway and while we all love super shiny show cars I suspect most of our readers have much more humble car modding ideas and projects. When I saw the video from Kian Davidoff and Jason Pearn I knew I had to contact them to see if we could work out a partnership with them to bring you these DIYs. The next C7 Corvette teaser video:Craft

For as long as I can remember the dinosaurs of automotive journalism have critisized the Corvettes interior. They always say, great car, great, fun, great drive, great price, but the interior leaves much to be desired. Well the Corvette has always stood for affordable performance and compromises had to be made. This meant not having a Mercedes like interior and I was always fine with that because the the last two generations of Corvette have been amazing bang for the buck. However my opinion doesn’t matter and GM has addressed the big automags concerns by splasing the interior of the C7 in Carbon and cowhide. Below is a bit of a teaser video showing some stitching, cows being flopped around, and some high tech carbon. Enjoy as we are now under a month away from the full reveal of the C7 Vette at Detroit!

Cameron Park, California has an interesting car culture with a nice variety of hot rods, muscle, classics, among others. At this months cruise in hot rods and classics were the rule of thumb and we’ve got lots of coverage.

Sunday Commentary. Dec 16 2012 Edition

With December half over the realization of putting another year in the books has sunk in. The car world was running on auto pilot this week as is typical this time of the year. However as we do on Sunday let’s take a look back at the week that was and a look forward to the week that will be.
