“Corvette Racing” by David Kimble: A Review

Before I began reading Corvette Racing by David Kimble, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’ve read automotive literature before, but nothing of this style where the whole racing history of an iconic sports car is explained (and shown) in great detail. It only took a few pages for me to realize that I would be hooked.
Corvette racing
Corvette Racing is all about the history of the iconic American sports car and its racing pedigree. Starting at the very beginning with the original 1953 Corvette, the book takes you through every year of the Corvette’s history up to 2012 with a focus on development, technology, race teams and results, pricing and sales figures, and VIPs from the Corvette’s development.

The All New Chevy Silverado

So Chevy debuted a new Silverado last week and we finally got around to showing it to you.
Chevy Silverado

Trucks aren’t really my thing, although I understand their purpose and being a farm boy I find myself driving one far more then I’d like. Chevy has a nice truck, always has and they are hoping the new Silverado is a home run for them because currently they are really backed up with the 2013 models. That’s not so good for GM but great for you if you want a deal on a pick up truck.

What you’ll get is a choice of 3 new engines that GM calls ECOTEC3 which are a V6 and two V8s. Of course the interior is full of gadgetry, leather, and luxuries because despite the pictures of the new Silverado being on a ranch with majestic mountains and horses, GM knows most of their trucks live in the suburbs. So they filled it full of options for all you suburban yuppie types that need a full sized truck to take you to your cubical and back every day.

If that sounds like your thing hit the jump to find your new suburban workhorse.

The Chevy Camaro Comes Home, Will Be Built In America Again

It’s just all kinds of wrong that the Chevy Camaro is built in Canada. Now I know our friends from north of the boarder do fine work, and most cars are actually built all over the world with parts being made just about everywhere these days, but final assembly will be back home in the U.S. again starting with the next gen Camaro. We will see the next Camaro in a few years but until then the car will still be built in Canada. However the Camaro will come to Lansing.

Understandably the Canadian Auto Workers are quite pissed. However, from GM’s stand point this only makes sense. The CTS and ATS are already built in Michigan while the Camaro is the only RWD car built in Canada, so it makes sense for GM to house all of its RWD cars in one plant.

Below are the pressers from GM and the CAW.

How does one get through those difficult weeks working in the modern coal cubicle? Obviously there are a couple of coping methods, but perhaps the cheapest and easiest is downloading a hand crafted wallpaper to hang on your digital wall.  Hit the jump for very few details about this red track weapon and a couple of wallpapers that should fit most things with an LCD screen.
