Fewer teens are getting drivers licenses.

According to the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute almost 33% of teens have not bothered to get their drivers license. What bizzaro world do we live in? New Nissan GT-R to come in 2018

I’m a big man (no fat jokes please) and I can admit when I’m wrong. I was wrong. It turns out there will be a new Nissan GT-R, it is just years and years and years away. By the time the new GT-R drops in 2018 it will be nearly ten years old and in car years that is very old. Of course Nissan has done a fine job of refreshing the GT-R and they vow to continue to do so. In fact they say a styling refresh is coming sometime in 2013.

There are also hints that the next GT-R may be a hybrid. A few years ago that would have made me groan but the reality is that atleast for now hybrids are the way of the future. Nissan of course is going this route because of the new NSX and the Porsche 918 Spyder. We all know how Nissan idolizes Porsche.

A new GT-R is good news though, it keeps competition in that $100,000 dollar segment and competition is a good thing.
