Track Ready Stripped out Subaru BRZ, for Europe

I woke up to an exciting press release today in my inbox, well I thought it was exciting until I realized it was for Europe only. It looks like following on the heels of Toyota’s announcement of a track ready version of the GT-86 in Japan, Europe will get one in the form of the Subaru BRZ. The car is lighter weight by about 100lbs and will be called the RC. It achieves it’s lightness by deleting the radio, air con, and some paint on the bumpers. It also comes without an LSD which is likely to accommodate custom final drive ratios or atleast specific ratios for various race series. The BRZ-RC also drops the 17 inch wheels for steel 16s. Sadly, there has been no stripped version for the US announced yet and Subaru says there will not be one. Again the Europeans have all the fun.

The new Mercedes SL63 AMG

Mercedes says the SL63 is going to be lighter, more powerful, and get 30% better fuel economy. Now I’m not sure who buys a six figure luxury rocket and worries about fuel economy but apparently there are some.

The Audi A3, a pocket luxury car.

Just ahead of the Geneva show we’ve gotten some leaked pics of the Audi A3. Details are scant as usual with these things but we’ll know more pretty quick as the show is right around the corner. What we are pretty sure of is that the A3 (atleast in Europe) will have three engine choices: The 120 horsepower 1.4 TFSI, the 177 horsepower 1.8 TFSI and a 138 horsepower 2.0 TDI.
