Any time a company makes a limited edition model it is likely to sell out pretty quick. Today it seems a large group of “car enthusiasts” are all about having their car for an investment rather then driving their slick machines. I’m sure that is the case with the Mopar edition 2014 Challenger. Only 100 were made and I’ll bet all 100 go into a climate controlled garage never to see the light of day until Barrett Jackson 2040 when someone hoping to make a good return on his investment decides to sell. Make no bones about it. I think that sucks. Cars are made to be driven, not looked at in a garage.

Oh sure to each their own but at the end of the day will the Mopar edition Challenger really be all that collectable? I doubt it. There are plenty of challengers to go around and the Mopar edition doesn’t offer anything particularly special. So good luck on that investment. Collector cars of the past are investments because production numbers were usually lower, special engine options, or the car itself was special. I’m not sure some fancy badgest and stripes make the Mopar edition any better then a regualar Challenger, which of course is the much better buy. If you want a collectible new Challenger maybe pick up one of the first year SRT-8s or you know just pick up a 1970.

Photos from the Jacksonville Cruise Night car show
Jackpot! While doing some hard drive cleaning I found some photos I hadn’t posted yet. I think last fall when I had some computer trouble these got backed up and forgotten about. New content is good content. I’ve got a little Ford, Mopar, and Chevy so something for everyone today. This is just a taste of what’s to come when the car show season kicks off here in just a few weeks. For now let’s enjoy some photos from the Jacksonville Cruise Night car show.
That Cuda above I have shown before, but no hurt in a repeat. Especially when it is some Mopar muscle. I go to bed at night with visions of Cuda’s in my head. Some people say I should get that checked out. If loving a Plymouth Cuda is wrong I don’t want to be right.

Sunday Commentary:
Sunday Commentary week in review
by Jason
I’m writing this Sunday Commentary on the brink of Monday. It’s late here in the Midwest and my action packed weekend kept me away from IG for most of it. Being Sunday and seeing as spring is showing itself here in the Midwest I hope you were able to go out for a drive. I did a lot of driving this weekend and it felt amazing to get out. Soon the roads will be filled with classic cars, hot rods, and customs cruising to let off a little steam. The sooner the better I say.
The week at IG was filled with new car news and some cool video. From Camaros to Corvettes and more in our 2>4 series. In the week to come we will have some racing recaps and who knows what surprises in store. Until we get ahead of ourselves let’s take a look back at the week that was.
