Details for me are what makes or breaks muscle cars, hot rods, and classics. From 50 years every Camaro looks the same, but from 5 feet the little things stand out and that’s what makes a car unique. I’ve found myself over the years taking a lot of photos of things like hood ornaments, manifolds, and badges. I thought I’d take this chance to share a few with you in what will likely be a three part series over the next couple weeks. Down to the details.

This hood on the first gen Camaro is an all time classic. It screams muscle car and power. I’d love to see details like this come back in modern cars. Now though you’re lucky to get a non functional hood scoop.

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG 507 edition
The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is one of our all time favorite cars. It’s a big can of whoop ass in a small sedan or coupe package. What you get is Mercedes luxury with an AMG nuclear bomb under the hood. It makes one of the best sounds in the world. Now Mercedes has upped the anti a bit, say 56 horsepower with the C63 AMG 507 edition.
The premise is simple, more is better. More power, better brakes, forged pistons and connecting rods. All this extra umpf rockets the C63 507 to 60 in just 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 176mph.

Speed Record cars since the 1980s
Cars breaking speed records since the 80’s

Since the invention of cars, people have continually tried to break the existing speed records. Back in the early days of cars, this was a much easier task than it was today, as some vehicles could barely go faster than 20 miles per hour. However, since the 1980s, the task of breaking the speed records have become much harder. Every year, people try to break the record held by vehicles in the past. Some vehicles focus on surpassing the top land speed of any vehicle, while others try to break the top speed record from a certain type of vehicle. No matter how it is done, the process of breaking speed records is extremely fascinating.
