Mopar Has Some Special Goodies For SEMA

Dodge and Chrysler’s parts brand Mopar has hotted up some cars for the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show this year. This is all because Chrysler is planning to produce around 24 special edition cars from now until 2014, which we’ll have more information on later. Until then hit the jump for pics of the SEMA show’s Dart, Ram, 300, and Charger.

The Ferrari F70, Successor to the Enzo to Debut in Detroit

When Ferrari announces a new hyper car it’s really big news. It’s also pretty rare that it happens in the US. According to Inside Line Ferrari will announce the successor to the Enzo, known as the F70 for now, at Detroit. America is a huge market for Ferrari so this isn’t a big surprise, but it still seems like Geneva would be the more likely launch site.

We have already discussed the F70 a few times here on IG. We specifically talked about its HYKers system. Details are still a bit scant. We do know it will weigh around 2,500 lbs. which is pretty light. It will have an all new V12 engine that rumors say will make 900hp, and will be made with lots of carbon fiber. At its launch the Enzo was arguably the greatest performance car of all time, so for the F70 to be a true successor it will really have to be something special.

Speed has Lost F1 Coverage for Next Year

According to the AP Speed has lost F1 coverage starting next year. As we speculated earlier in the week Speed is likely to turn into an all sports network and those rumors seem more true every day. Speed has shown F1 coverage for 17 years and part of me is sad to see it go. I remember as a teen staying up later then I should have watching races. No word on what will happen to Speed’s trio of announcers, but I hope Hobbs, Matchett, and Varsha manage to make it to F1’s next TV destination. They really are quite good and very entertaining. The AP also reports NBC is negotiating with F1 for TV rights so thankfully we will still have a place to watch F1. Maybe NBC won’t interrupt a race for NASCAR practice.

Is the Ford Focus RS Coming to the U.S. with 350hp?

We’ve never really gotten a hot Focus here in the US. We get an ST now and then but it’s not the same kind of hot hatchery that they have over in Europe. However, Ford is changing that as it tries to move all its products to a global stage. It’s really a big trade-off. Europe will see the Mustang and we will gain the Focus RS. Ok the Focus RS isn’t exactly a Mustang and it hasn’t been confirm here yet but it seems likely that we will get it. Finally.

Flat black Chevy goodness

Flat paint isn’t anything new although some people would like you to think it is, but despite not being new it’s rarely done well because it is hard. Flat paint will show every warp, stretch, nick, scratch, dimple, and dint in the body work so when it’s done right it’s something to see. Well this Chevy is done right.
