Corvettes: American Icon

I saw this really amazing Vette today. Unfortunately it was going the opposite way of me. It was a first generation and it had some aftermarket parts on it. It was a stunner. That got me thinking about some of the nice Vettes I’ve seen over the years. Corvettes are a love or hate car. I really love them, particularly the really old ones and the really new ones. The ones in between I kind of hate. Sorry if you have one.

Audi Reveals it’s DTM car for 2014. Bonkers

Many of our readers may not know about DTM since it rarely makes an appearance in the US and is run by German manufacturers. DTM is a pretty cool race series though. Big German race cars with insane body modes that create huge amounts of downforce. The result is big heavy race cars doing things big heavy race cars should not be able to do. We love DTM here at IG. It is kind of Nascar on road courses with German cars. There is not much to not like. So Audi revealed their DTM car for this year. It’s bonkers. Wait until you see the side mirror.

If I’m honest DTM is what I wish Nascar was. I think Nascars are too similar, too controlled, too boring. I’d love to see the regulations opened up to allow some wild designs on the aero packages. I guess I really long for the 1960s and 1970s era. I realize those days are gone forever and we will just have to enjoy Nascar how it is. Of course we always have DTM to fall back on too.

Nascar Sprint Cup Series Kobalt 400 recap

The Nascar Sprint Cup Series Kobalt 400 held at Las Vegas this weekend was a real nail bitter. Dale Jr. Looked to continue his winning ways and serious momentum but the weekend would ultimately go to Brad Keselowski. Ultimately the race was lead by 10 different drivers at various times. Several cautions were called for debris but there were no serious incidents.
