Ford to put a Mustang on top of the Empire State Building

Nearly 50 years ago an American icon was born. The Ford Mustang took the world by storm with it’s small size and sporty performance. Of course over the years the Mustang would turn into an all out muscle car. For the birth of the Mustang Ford placed one on top of the Empire State Building in New York. It was so popular the first time someone at Ford decided what the heck, let’s do it again.

Of course you don’t have to go all the way to New York to see the new Mustang. We have a full walk around of the 2015 Mustang right here on IG> You might be thinking how are they gonna get that Mustang on top of the Empire State Building? Giant helicopter? parachute from a C130? Nope, the boring way. They are going to disassemble it and then put it together back on top. I think they could do something more exciting. If you want more info on the history of the Mustang on the roof, and info about what they are doing next month hit the jump.

Callaway Camaro Z/28

Callaway is well known for making Chevy’s go like hell. I am sure the Sledgehammer is something everyone has heard of. Now Callaway is setting their sites on the new Chevy Camaro Z/28. We have talked a lot about the Z/28. Chevy thinks it is the best Camaro ever. We think it is a tad bit pricey. However if you have to have the ultimate Camaro the Z/28 is probably your thing.

Of course the stock Z/28 was the ultimate Camaro until Callaway decided to step it up. Adding an Eaton TVS supercharger, intake, and other upgrades. It comes at a lofty price of nearly 20k. I am sure you can do it all yourself but you wouldn’t get a nifty Callaway name plaque and paper work. Lots more info and photos after the jump.

Sunday Commentary: Hope Springs eternal.

This week’s Sunday Commentary is coming to you a bit later than normal if for no other reason but it has been a busy day. Busy week in fact. I am glad to stay my car event schedule is filling up quite nicely with the first get together only a few weeks away. I am very ready for that to happen. Finally I can get back to posting original content here and not just doing news or race recaps. You are ready for that as well.

Dart-shifter

With one more week of March behind us we should take a look back at the week that was. Racing, more racing, a classic test drive, and some fine art filled the pages of IG this week. There should be something for everyone.

Oleg Konin’s “If Only”

Admittedly I don’t get art. I’m really not that deep of a person to look into deep meanings of painting and photos. You have to spell it out for me to tell me the point of a book. When I see something and go “whoa” well it must be a pretty powerful message. However when I saw Oleg Konin’s “If Only” well finally there was a piece of art I got.
Senna kiszáll
I am sure all of you know about Ayrton Senna and his tragic crash that ended his brilliant career and life. Konin’s “If only” imagines what if Senna had gotten out of the crashed car. What would have happened? How many championships might Senna have won? If only….
