Film Friday: Superbikes at Cadwell Park

BSB at Cadwell Park

There are a lot of “extreme” motorsports. While they are exciting to watch, they look a bit contrived in comparison to many of the more traditional motorsports. We showed you a legitimately extreme sport with our Film Friday: Isle of Man Edition and now the motorcycles are back, cementing their reign as the kings of extreme. Hit the jump for some Superbikes jumping.

The British Superbike Championship (BSB) is one of the premiere national Superbike series and it has produced a number of competitive riders who have moved on to World Superbike and MotoGP.

One of the most popular tracks on the BSB calendar is Cadwell Park, located in Lincolnshire, England.  Built in 1934 Cadwell Park has seen it’s share of motor racing.  The narrow track and numerous elevation changes, including the signature Mountain section, have given it a nickname: “The Mini-Nurburgring”

Cadwell Park’s extreme aspects really shine when they are put to the test by a 200hp Superbike.   For example, watch in awe as men with large attachments air out $200,000 race bikes like they’re your neighbor’s clapped out WR450.
