First and foremost I’m proud to say we now have some inside access to the Nascar Media site. This means we can have some race coverage and other news and info that we just haven’t been able to provide in the past. I’d love to be able to tell you we will have race results and photos from every race, but at the end of the day we are still a two man operation on a really tight budget so that won’t happen. However I plan to cover the big races and any big news that happens. So if you are a Nascar and an Infinite Garage fan things are looking up.
I thought I’d get things started by doing a brief photo history of the number 3 car. Of course the 3 cars most famous driver is the one the only Dale Earnhardt. However long before the Intimidater was winning races the 3 car was out on the track making history. For example that photo above is of Paul Goldsmith in 1958 winning the Grand National. This was the last race on the beach.
More after the jump.
Fireball Roberts which has to be one of the great names in racing history won the 1959 Firecracker 250 in the number 3 car. He finished a full 57 seconds ahead of second place.

David Pearson is much more well known for his driving in the number 6 Dodge. However he piloted the 3 car to three wins prior to moving over to the 6 car. This photo was from 1961 in Charlotte.

In 1983 it was Ricky Rudd piloting the #3 Chevy for Richard Childress. Childress ran the car for two seasons between Earnhardt’s two stints as the #3 driver.

That brings us to the most famous pilot of the #3 car. This photo from Talladega in 1984.

In 1995 the #3 car won the Brickyard 400 with Earnhardt driving.

Who could forget that memorable first win of the Daytona 500 by Dale Earnhardt. This is a bit of an iconic image.

The 2000 Winston 500 at Talladega would be the last time Dale Earnhardt would visit victory lane with the #3 car.

Hopefully this is a worthy kick off to what hopes to be a big year for us bringing you Nascar coverage.
