The All new Mercedes Benz SL series will be hitting show rooms in the spring of 2012. The always popular SL series gets a major reworking featuring all new more aggressive styling, new engine choices, better fuel economy, and more innovative luxury features. Only details of the SL550 have emerged so far and it’s looking very promising.
The SL550 will get a new 4.6L V8 making 429hp and a monstrous 516lb-ft of torque. The car is said to be more fuel efficient due to it’s stop/start eco feature as well as it’s driver adaptive 7 speed transmission. All this will rocket the 550 to 60 is 4.5 seconds.
Mercedes is particularly proud of their “magic sky control” which is a roof that is transparent or completely black with the push of the button. The roof of course is also retractable.
All the new features of the SL550 are sure to make it another fine piece in Mercedes collection.
