Ok guys and gals, here’s the skinny on this. I’m conflicted on what to do here, Kids Wish Network is having a give away where you can win two totally bad ass Camaros. A 2012 SLP SS/RS with 770hp! and a 1969 SS/RS 396. That’s cool, but what’s even more cool is helping out sick kids. One thing I said to my best friend several years ago is that we have to figure out how to use cars for good. It’s been a lifelong goal of mine to do some kind of charity work around cars. To this point I’ve totally failed but at some point in the future I will find my way.
Meanwhile at Infinite-Garage.com we are going to promote charities that use cars to help out people in need. So that brings me to Kids Wish Network. They aren’t exactly the highest rated charity because they are pretty inefficient, only 47 cents of every dollar they get actually goes to the cause. However they claim, and have backed it up that their cost is largely because of how they fundraise, ie telemarketing and giving away bad ass Camaros. Hey atleast they aren’t paying their executives millions like the big Cancer charities.
Full disclosure here because if you do decide to try and get tickets for these cars I want you to know about the charity.
Charity Navigator is an organization that rates charities on various aspects. Check out the Kids Wish Network page here
Over all they rate 2/4 stars, 3/4 on transparency, and 1/4 financially.
I’m not in any way shape or form endorsing them as a charity, I’m just putting this out there as a way to do some good through cars.
So what do you get if you win?
one of the finest examples of classic Camaro on the planet and is represented to have only 25,000 original miles. This iconic example showcases many desirable options including a 4 speed transmission, cowl induction hood, and 12 bolt 4.10 posi-traction rear end. Instead of sending power to only one wheel, vehicles with posi-traction differential send power to both wheels creating better traction, which is desperately needed in the case of this beast. and oh yeah, Chevy’s legendary 396, 375hp (under rated). It will be a monster.
The 2012 Supercharged Camaro SS/RS was designed and created to honor the race-bred heritage of its matching older sibling. In partnership with SLP Performance, a manufacturer of high performance packages for modern-day muscle cars, the vision was to create an understated car capable of overpowering any vehicle that crosses its path. SLP Performance pulled out all of the stops transplanting the stock LS3 with their new crate ZL770, giving this Camaro the ability to reach an astonishing tire-shredding 770 horsepower!
Some of the features this 2012 Supercharged Camaro SS/RS has to offer include SLP custom wheels with ZL wheel center caps, 6 speed transmission, carbon fiber additions, and unique emblems that complete its transformation into the ultimate supercar.
So basically if you win, we are all going to be jealous. Good luck! and if you choose not to participate in this charity event please do some research and participate in some other event that you feel is worth of your donation. Let’s build a better world through the love of All Things Automotive.
