The White Hall Drag O Way Reunion Part 2, Cobras

The awesome thing about last weekends White Hall Drag O Way Reunion is there was something for everyone. I generally take my Dad to these types of events as he loves cars too. He’d tell you he’s a Mopar man but I have never seen him jump up as fast as he did when this blue with white stripes Cobra rumbled by. Luckily I not only have a few photos but I have a video as well for you which you won’t want to miss.

So hit the jump for the Cobras of The White Hall Drag O Way Reunion

The return of the Barracuda

A while back we floated the rumor that Dodge was working on a Barracuda to add to it’s lineup. We thought thay the Barracuda may replace the Challenger and be a smaller lighter car more in line with the Mustang, but Dodge doesn’t really do small and light these days so that seemed unlikely. More like a dream really.

Automotive News
has found out that the Barracuda will co exist with the Challenger and not replace it. The Challenger is scheduled for a redesign in 2015 and word is it will be a slightly shorter wheel base car, so maybe it will get lighter yet. What we do know from our own sources inside Chyrsler is that SRT is indeed working on a supercharged version of the 6.2L Hemi engine for the next Challenger.

What it appears is going to happen now is that Dodge will get the Challenger base and R/T models while SRT will be in charge of the top of the range supercharged model that will be called the Barracuda. The Barracuda will of course be made to compete with the likes of the ZL1 Camaro and GT500 Mustang. Can Chrysler do it? Can they take this very big, very over weight car and turn it into a real street fighter with the other muscle cars? Let’s also not forget the Challenger is the most expensive of the three muscle cars as well so can it compete price wise as a Barracuda? Reid Bigland of Dodge says the brand will focus on “affordable performance” moving forward. What exactly does that mean though? We will find out soon enough, 2015 is coming up pretty fast and you know we will keep you up to date here on IG with all the latest news.

Billy Gibbons talks Hot Rods with PowerBlock Magazine

There are certain celebrities out there that everyone knows is a car guy. Leno, Eric Bana, and of course Billy Gibbons. Anyone who remembers the hay day of MTV, you know when they actually played music, remembers the Eliminator that was in several ZZ Top videos from “Legs” to ” Sharp Dressed Man.”

PowerBlock magazine which you may be familiar with from Spike TVs weekend series the PowerBlock, has done a nice interview with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top fame where he discusses having the Eliminator commissioned by So Cal Speed Shop in the late 70s, he also talks his other famous hot rod CadZZilla, a Boyd Coddington creation.

There are videos alone in the interview

Anyway, if you get a chance check out the PowerBlock interview, it’s worth a read and watch.

White Hall Drag O Way Reunion Part 1

Once again it is time to get together with our friends at the White Hall Drag O Way, but this time not for their normal cruise in but for their big annual Reunion. This year makes 10 years these guys have been doing this and they had a HUGE turn out. To put things in perspective this show probably doubled the population of White Hall, Illinois for the day. With a couple hundred cars, prizes, burn out contests, and cars from classics, to muscle, cars and even some modern machines this get together is a heck of a blow out. Not to mention mother nature cooperated perfectly, with the best weather day West Central Illinois has seen in months. The coolest thing about all of this is these guys do real good in the community with their fundraising efforts.

This post is just a teaser if you will because with so many cars to see one post will just not do. Over the next week or so I will try and get out a bunch of coverage from the reunion and do a feature car or two, but don’t be surprised if sometime in the winter some coverage from this show pops back up on the site because there is just so much to see.

For now though, hit the jump to check out a few highlights from the show and stay tuned for lots more in the coming days.

Forza Horizon: Behind the Scenes

With winter coming on our thoughts turn to our second favorite passed time which is sim racing. The sim of choice for the team here at IG is Forza. This whole concept of Infinite-Garage.com was birthed in a Forza 4 lobby so it is near and dear to our hearts. Since Forza’s inception it has been the best of the best on console racers fueling our passion for all things cars from modifying to racing. Earlier this summer we were introduced to Forza Horizon which is a spin off of the traditional Forza series. With an October 23, 2012 release date we will do not know a whole lot about the game except for it will have some racing, an open world, and a few other tid bits. It looks pretty, we do know that, which is no surprise because the Forza franchise always looks pretty. Luckily the minds behind Forza Horizon are starting a series called “Behind the Scenes.” It’s a good thing they are are in the video game business and not the creative naming business. So without further a due here is the first video in the series of Forza Horizon: Behind the Scenes.
