Stage 10 of the 2014 Dakar Rally saw more of the same as competitors battled the sands of Chile. Hit the jump for the briefest of recaps and more pictures of expensive machinery being abused in the South American landscape.
Honda’s Barreda attacked and once again came away with a stage win and cut more than 11 minutes out of Marc Coma’s overall lead. While it was an impressive ride Coma is still nearly 45 minutes ahead in the overall standings and Barreda will have to kept up this pace for the rest of the rally if he hopes to stand on the top step of the podium.
Nani Roma lost more time to Peterhansel on the day’s stage and now the Spaniard is only two minutes ahead of the Charging Frenchman. Both men are rally veterans and multi-time winners so it could be an epic battle over the last few stages of the 201 Dakar Rally.
