Polish company, Arrinera, is releasing it’s supercar to the public. At 116,000 Euros, it’s around half the price of a Ferrari 458 Italia.
What do you get for the money?
The first, and most obvious thing you get is Lamborghini-esque looks. The Arrinera looks like a mash-up between a Gallardo and a Murcielago.
It’s not just a show pony though, you also get a fair dose of performance to back up those looks.
Arrinera have thrown a high-performance version of Chev’s 6.2-litre LS9 V8 into the car. The supercharged engine is tuned to produce 478kW of power and 820Nm of torque. Although for a premium price, Arrinera are offering selected customers a tune-up package that ups engine output to 522kW! A six-speed manual transmission sends all that power to the rear wheels.
Because of this engine and a relatively light weight of around 1300kG, the Anninera delivers Ferrari-like performance, the car hitting 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds, 0-200km/h in 8.9 seconds, and going on to a 340km/h top speed.
Okay, so looks and straight-line go are covered. What about handling? Well, on that front there is some very good news. The chassis of the car, which is made from high-strength steel, along with the body, which is constructed of Kevlar and carbon fibre, are designed by British Supercar and handling expert, Lee Noble.
That’s right, Noble, of McLaren F1 and Noble cars fame. Noble’s efforts are considered some of the most talented handling efforts in the world, and Arrinera have appointed him as the head “rolling chassis” designer. He’s also a shareholder and member of the board at Arrinera.
On each corner of the car is a 19-inch lightweight alloy wheel housing six-piston calipers, which squeeze 380mm discs at the front and four-piston calipers/350mm discs at the rear. These do an incredible job and pull the supercar up from 200km/h in just 133 metres!
A special bestoke leather interior and audio system complete the package to make the owner feel special.
