Down to the Details part III

Once again it is time to get up close and person with muscle cars, hot rods, and other assorted vehicles of noteworthiness. As I’ve said before one of the most frequent questions we get is “how do I get my car on Infinite Garage?” It’s simple, catch our eye. Maybe it’s the total package or just the right look under the right light. A good story helps too. We’ll have a good story later in the week, for now how about some details.

The Chevy II and Camaro front ends provide a pretty sweet photo op when side by side.

Getting shots of the interior of classics at shows can be a challenge. Lighting stinks, sometimes the owner doesn’t want you in the car and of course there is the issue of crowds. However occasionally it all comes together.

Show trophies are nice, but to a lot of guys a real badge of honor is making the long haul on the hot rod power tour. My favorite cars to cover and photograph are the ones that get driven. When I see these stickers I always stop to check out the car.

The rear deck lid of a classic Corvette is a thing of beauty with it’s swooping line and medallion badge.

The interior of classics reminds us that there was a time when elegance and style were carried through out a car. It seems to me that the cockpits of cars today are just a place of utility. It’s rare to find true beauty and style.

Hood pins, now more of a novelty item found on some poorly modified Honda were once a necessity. They had purpose in a unique era of automobile design when a cars personality was just as important as it’s performance.

It’s days like today pouring through photos from the last few years that I get excited for the year to come. All the great cars, all the great people I will meet. Bring on the car shows.
