Sunday Commentary: Feb. 17, 2013 car care, Chevy, and Polara

With February half over dreams of hot rods, muscle cars, and all sorts of customs are dancing in my head as car show season is screaming towards us now. The time changes in just a few weeks and the midwest has already started to show signs of greening up. It lifts the spirit knowing that the long gray bleak winter is coming to an end soon.

While we wait for spring to come let’s take at the week that was, and what we are working on for the week coming up as well as this weeks reader ride. So hit the jump for all that and more.

It was a very busy week here at IG with probably the biggest news being the launch of the new 2014 Chevy SS. 415hp, V8, RWD, and a while lot to like. IG readers and facebookers seem to agree though it’s quite boring looking. Our Austrailian cohorts over at World Car Reviews are going to give it a test drive later in the month and we should have a full on review of that.

Another big launch this week came at the Chicago Autoshow with the release of the Core line of products from Chrysler. The Dodge Challenger Core, Dodge Charger Core, and Chrysler 300 Core. The idea here is the engines of the SRT8 models in a less expensive package. We like that, we like that alot.

Looking ahead
We are working on a handful of interesting things this week, but namely is a feature on a Dodge Polara. Pictured below is the before, just wait until you see the after. It’s a stunner and Polaras haven’t caught fire in the collector car world making this resto project pretty unique.

Product reviews
We recently inked a deal with Autopia to be an Affiliate of theirs. This means a couple things. One being Infinite-Garage’s resident detailing whacko I’m going to be doing some product testing this summer to help find you the best stuff out there to keep your car shiny. Like the IG mobile office.
Two, we are going to occasionally be able to offer you promotional deals like this one today for 10% certain items at Autopia. Receive 10 percent off on eligible items at Autopia Car Care with code autopia10off

The cool thing about Autopia is they sell a lot of different products from a lot of different companies so there is no pressure to give a favorable review of a product if the product stinks. So as always I promise the truth when reviewing products. I’ll give car cleaning products the same treatment I do car reviews.

Being Sunday we need to wrap things up with a reader ride. This week is Bob Howell’s awesome Nova.

So as we wrap up the week, keep those project cars and reader rides rolling in and remember keep it shiny side up.
