March is here but you could hardly tell it sitting at IG HQ. Luckily the snow wasn’t nearly as bad as it was supposed to be, but another day of shoveling is not exactly how I pictures my first Sunday of March going. Still it means one day closer to car show season and that’s alright by me.

As is the case with the winter this week on IG featured a lot of industry news and new car stuff. I am glad you guys like that sort of thing, or at least the visitor numbers suggest you do because it’s really not what I love doing. It just fills the time between car shows. However there were some fun stories this week and some good video and while we may have taken a day off in the middle there ultimately we still had a good week. I could rant on more about the snow but I’m sure no one wants to hear that so let’s get on with the week in review.
Daytona 500 recap
I’m pretty excited to get to do some Nascar coverage this year. I know I won’t be able to recap every race but I hope to hit the high points and I hope you guys enjoy the coverage we get to bring you. I enjoy seeing photos from the track and I imagine you guys and gals do too.

Roadkill shootout
You have to love project cars and they are even better when they are driven hard. That was the idea behind the project roadkill shoot out over at MT’s website. It’s an entertaining video and if you are snowed in today and didn’t catch it on Tuesday when we posted it you might just want to check it out.

Hot Rods
I hate the thought that in the winter our site kind of turns into an information aggregate of other sites across the web. I hate using other peoples content but that’s the way it goes in the winter. However I had been wanting to look back at some hot rods and do a little bit of hot rod history as well. The slow winter week made for a perfect time to do that.

Dodge Challenger Shaker
My love for Mopar has turned some people off from IG in the past. I understand that Chevy guys want to see more Chevys and Ford guys want more Fords but I love some good Mopar. I particularly like the new Challenger. I know some hate it’s weight and size but I think it’s the best driver of the three modern muscle cars. Certainly the best for taking a cross country cruise. It’s no surprise dealers are clamoring for the new Challenger Shaker.

Robbie Maddison is one bad mother
We have loads of motorcycle fans that read IG regularly and our own Reno is a bit of an enthusiast himself. So this Robbie Maddison guy is really something on his motorcycle. I’m glad Reno posted this video because I enjoyed it greatly. I can’t ever see myself doing something like this but I admire others who can. If you want to be amazed check it out.
(pictured below not Robbie Maddison, I needed a motorcycle pic so I used the Dakar stuff)

I’m having a slight problem with our Friday post so that will wrap up this week in review. Hopefully you are somewhere warm and full of fast cars. If you are stuck here in the Midwest like me don’t worry it can’t snow forever and as soon as the weather breaks I will be here bringing you all the hot rod, muscle car, and street rod goodness you’ve come to expect from us.
For me it’s back outside to scoop more snow.
