Dec 30

Friday random thoughts and news

It’s the last Friday of the year and I had an idea.  Instead of three or four posts covering some news topics, maybe I should just make one, with smaller tid bits in them.  That way, you don’t to wade through several news posts to get to the reviews and other stuff here.  Genius!

Have you ever wanted the original General Lee?  Good news! You can buy it at this years Barrett-Jackson auction.  Be prepared to dig deep though because as we know everything at B-J is overpriced.

Word on the street is that Ford’s GT500 vert will drop at the Detroit auto show.  No real surprise there, dig deep for that one too.  It will be worth it though, because it’s sure to be a great cruiser, and it will sound awesome with the top down.

I read an article on Yahoo this week that I won’t bother linking, because it sucked.  It said the Volt was a flop.  I think assholes that know nothing about cars shouldn’t be writing about cars.  The Volt’s only real problem is it’s price.  Other than that, it does what it’s supposed to and it does it damn well.  Is it just me, or do Yahoo’s writers consistently suck more than any other “news agency”?

I got a nifty alert in my inbox about GM recalling some Chevy Sonics.  It turns out about 30 might be missing some brake pads.  OOPS!

Speedhunters has announced their “of the year” winners for this year, which means you can head over there and vote for the “car of the year”.  As always, I disagree with some of their choices, but it is voted on by the readers so you can’t really argue it.

Tomorrow we will announce the first ever Infinite-Garage.com car of the year.  It won’t be a surprise.
