Summer is hanging on tight here in the Midwest but that is not slowing down the car world. Another weekend and another great show for me to attend. We did a couple previews this week of the White Hall Drag O Way Reunion last week and Saturday was finally the big show. That means today is a little bit like the day after Christmas. You have lots of great memories, some new toys, but there is something a bit disappointing about it all when you realize it’s a full year until the next reunion. On the bright said I got loads of great photos of everything from rat rods to new muscle. There will be something for everyone for sure.

How about that awesome pair above? A sweet pro touring style Nova and a Cervini Mustang. Both super cool and prime examples of old and new show cars doing it right. Plenty more from the WHDOW Reunion as the week moves on but in the mean time we better do the week in review so hit the jump for the week that was in photos.
You may have noticed the last few weeks we have cut back our posting schedule some. This is largely due to us being busy. Largely we are two guys doing this thing because it’s fun. IG is our love, but we also have to pay the bills so we just may not be able to keep up posting 7 days a week. Don’t worry though we are still going to be posting regular awesome original content on an almost daily basis. We have a lot of features, shows, events, and other things planned this fall and this winter we intend to roll out some new features like a calender of events and a few other cool things we are working on. So stay tuned.

Fifth Friday
Realistically the August Fifth Friday Cruise in was probably the last for the year. There’s a shot in November but with the days getting shorter and the weather getting more decidedly winter I have to think the chances are low. If that’s the case and the August Fifth Friday was the last until 2014 it went out with a bang. A big turn out awaited everyone who was excited to kick off the Labor Day weekend with some high octane fun with friends and family. Of course we were there to cover all the classic car goodness.

I’m proud to say that this photo of this stunning restomodded truck has garnered a great bit of attention for us here at IG. It is a nice photo.
Tributo Ferrari
What do you get when you cross the streets of New York City with some Italian stallions? Tributo Ferrari, which was a celebration of the legendary Italian marquee. You have to think that the concrete canyons of NYC were alive with the sound of screaming V8’s and V12’s. What a great place to be.

WHDOW preview and Fifth Friday part II
As I said earlier we hit the Fifth Friday Cruise in pretty hard and that was largely to promote last yesterday’s big reunion show. The guys at the WHDOW have been very gracious to IG allowing us into their lives to photograph their cars, events, and gatherings. Many of them continue to be some of our biggest supporters and we are very thankful for that. So we did a part II from the Cruise In which if you missed you will surely want to check out.

Mclaren P1
Wrapping up a shortened week for us was the Mclaren P1. We do not cover a whole lot of these types of cars. They generally aren’t our thing but they are cool and in the case of the P1 they are stunning. So we took a chance to post some amazing photographes of the Mclaren P1 out in the desert south west doing some hot weather testing.

The Sunday Commentary
Since that wraps up the week in review I will finish things out with some thoughts. Yesterday at the WHDOW reunion I had the pleasure of seeing some great cars and meeting some great people. Also I reconnected with some great friends. It’s easy on the surface to just see the relationship of photographer and photographee, but it’s much deeper than that. You develop relationships with these great people and you see what makes them tick. Of course the central theme is cars, but it’s all about the relationships. When you ask what everyone’s favorite thing about the show is they will say talking to all the people.

That’s the great thing about this event. It’s about the people. We heard great stories and tributes of former members who had passed on, we laughed at stories from the past, and we talked about the future and how bright it is. It is very easy to get down on the world and people when you listen to the news, talk radio, or even just talking to people, but when you get out to an event like this which is free to the public and the money that is raised goes to help people you realize there is a lot of good in the world and you do not have to look very hard to find it. So I’d like to encourage everyone to get out there and find a group of like minded car guys that you can hang out with, make friends, and do some good.
Well, it looks like it’s time to put another week in the books.
