Well February is coming along nicely as we have now moved past the half way mark of the month. Winter will be behind us soon and car season on us. The forecast calls for temps up near 60 later this week here at IG HQ which will be a great turn around from the ten below zero we had just a few days ago. I’m excited to see the snow gone. Detail the IG Cobalt and get out and drive.

Mid February is a big transition time for us here at IG as we start to make plans on what car events we can attend and where. With the big car auto shows behind us we first turn our attention to racing season. I doubt I have to tell anyone reading this but the Daytona 500 is coming up right away and I will hopefully have loads of pics and info from the event. F1 is also going to kick off soon and winter testing is in full trot now. We may be able to have some NHRA coverage this year as well which would round out our race coverage nicely. I’m very excited for all the things we have to come here on IG. It’s going to be a big year! Not to mention we’ve got a BIG site update coming soon. I know I mentioned it a month or so ago but with the server troubles and some other things that came up we had to put it on the back burner. However work is in full swing and maybe this time next month we are all enjoying the new format. It’s going to be much more user friendly.

We had a really full week here at IG. Despite some technology issues on my end earlier in the week there was a whole bunch of news and cool stuff going on this week. I’m doing a bit of testing with the format of my articles this week. I’m trying to see which ones get the most clicks on pictures and links depending on how I have written things. In case you are wondering how the heck to find the link to an article in the week in review it will be the heading of the paragraph. It should be blue. With that out of the way. let’s take a look back at the week that was here at IG.
Saleen and Katzkin team up on the 30th anniversary of Saleen

Barrett Jackson Infographic
We love Barrett Jackson here at IG. Where else besides IG can you find so many cool classic cars? While I didn’t make it to Scottsdale personally this year, it’s on my list for the future. We did cobble together some coverage and particularly this great Infographic from hhclassics. You’ll have to hit the link above to check it out.

Vintage Drag Racing footage
Old racing footage is one of my favorite ways to waste some time. Especially drag racing footage. We had a heaping helping of that for you this week.

Hemi Cuda Race Car
My love for the Hemi Cuda is pretty well known. I think Cudas are some of the best looking cars of all time and if you are fortunate enough to have the Hemi well I’m jealous. We stumbled across a cool racer Hemi on Craigslist and did a little article about it.

Forza Motorsports 5 to get Road America?
We actually broke some news this week. That’s not something that happens too often. We are fans of the Forza Motorsports series and we’ve heard loud and clear that you are too. T10 has been hinting at something big coming in the later half of February and it may very well be the first track expansion pack of Forza Motorsports 5. We’ll see if it is indeed soon enough. If the leaderboards section of the forzamotorsports.net site has anything to do with it, it’s coming.

The Mazda Miata turns 25
Can you believe the Mazda Miata is 25 years old? America’s favorite weekend racer just turned 25. Here’s to 25 more years.

Nascar #3
I thought it was appropriate to kick off our Nascar coverage with the history of Nascar’s most popular number. 3. We hope to have a lot more Nascar coverage soon.
That puts another week in the books here at IG. It feels like things are really starting to come together for a big year. If you like what we are doing, and I suspect you do, tell your friends and family. Tell your car club, or the guys you race with. or.
