Chicago Auto show: photos from the floor part II

Part II from the Chicago auto show at McCormick place starts where part one left off with Maserati and that new fandangled Ghibli. It was all the rage after the super bowl and maybe a bit controversial. Not controversial because of anything in the commercial but because of what wasn’t. The price. There was a lot of discussion on if Maserati missed the mark by advertising to the super bowl audience. What Maserati didn’t tell you was that the price of the new Ghibli is $65,000 which isn’t a bank buster for a lot of America.

While the Maserati Ghibli is a great looking ride and we will certainly talk more about it another time it was not the only action at Chicago. From Lexus, Ford, and just about every one else there was a lot of interesting cars out there. So you’ll have to hit the jump for more.

Photos from the floor of the Chicago Autoshow

The Chicago Autoshow is the second biggest new car event in the country. There are always lots of new car releases, special editions, and even a classic or two at the show. McCormick place is huge so there is a lot to see and do at the big show. If you couldn’t be there we’ve got you covered with a couple posts full of photos.

SRT-Viper

We already told you about the new SRT Satin Vapor cars that debuted at the show. The Viper is always a stunner and even better in what I’d call awesome green. It’s a stark contrast to some of the other boring colors shown by some of the automakers. I’ve got some photos of those below as well as some of the cooler stuff too.

SRT Satin Vapor editions

The Chicago Auto Show is here and some news is trickling out. Much of it not all that interesting to us here at IG but you can always rely on the SRT boys to come up with something note worthy. It’s been a steady stream of special edition cars from the gang at SRT and this year it’s the Satin Vapor edition. As you can image satin refers to the paint and all the big hitters in the SRT stable are getting the treatment.

Basically with the Satin Vapor option gives you a choice of several colors such as Tor Red, Header orange, Graphite, and White. That varies slightly depending on the car but I’ve got all the details right after the jump as well as several photos of the cars in various colors. Sadly there really aren’t any performance goodies involved here well aside from the 6.4L V8, but it’s another way to customize your new SRT product.

Forza Motorsports 5: Honda Legends Car Pack

Forza Motorsports 5 has been taking a hammering from the press, fans, and former fans for the latest installment in the series. The general consenses is it’s good, but incomplete and that has ruffled some feathers. To make matters worse it seems T10 just can’t seem to get their house in order with bungled dlc releases, lack luster car packs, and tons of bugs that haven’t been fixed. However T10 does seem to be trying to right the ship. Today brings another DLC pack a big content update and the Honda Legends Pack. All of which are good news.

honda car pack

This is all big happy news. What you get with the Honda pack is three cars for FREE! The 1984 Honda Civic CRX Mugen, the 1994 Honda Prelude SI, and the 2014 Honda Civic SI. All very cool welcome additions to the game. I take this as a bit of an act of contrition by T10 to it’s loyal fans. Many of whom are feeling pretty scorned as of late. Let’s hope this is a step in the right direction for everyone leading to more updates and a better fan/dev relationship heading into FM6 which should debut in 2015.

Other updates in today’s pack include:
Multiplayer replays
aero damage now fixed in the pits
working drag racing tree. (don’t confuse this for a realistic drag mode. It’s not)

Today is a good day for the Forza community with all those welcome updates. Hit the jump for the Honda pack video.
